Angela Fuller, Andy Royle, and I will be offering a 3-day SCR workshop in Banff in March. A brief description is below. Follow the link at the bottom for registration information and details.
Instructors Andy Royle (USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center) Richard Chandler (University of Georgia) Angela Fuller (USGS and Cornell University) Date: 12-14 March 2018 (3 days) Location: Banff, Alberta, Canada Cost USD$600 (normal rate) or USD$450 (student rate). Cost includes breakfast, lunch, and refreshment breaks. Overview This course introduces key models used in the analysis of spatially-explicit capture-recapture data using Bayesian and classical (likelihood) methods. It will closely follow material from the book "Spatial Capture-Recapture" (Elsevier, 2014). The workshop will cover basic model and data analysis concepts in R and the BUGS language (using WinBUGS or JAGS), analysis of classical capture-recapture models (models M0, Mb, Mh, etc...), concepts and methods of spatial capture-recapture models and their analysis using the R package "oSCR" and also using the BUGS language. Advanced topics will include open population models and integrated population models. Registration Registration information and additional information about the workshop can be found here: http://conted.warnell.uga.edu/courses/cap-recap2018
