I am a M.S. student in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia. My research interests include wildlife management and conservation, population ecology, avian ecology and behavior, and landscape ecology. My thesis work involves the use of spatial hierarchical models to estimate spatial variation in nest density for cavity-nesting birds. I am also using spatial point process models to understand the effect of landscape factors on Red-and-Green macaw (Ara chloropterus) nest-site selection in Fazenda Boa Vista, PiauĂ, Brazil. Other projects that I am a part of deal with documenting the vocal repertoire of the Red-and-Green Macaw in the wild, understanding the evolutionary and ecological reasons behind vocal coding in Neotropical parrots, and describing the within-nest behavior of wild Red-and-Green Macaws.
